Hello!
I would like to spend a little time introducing our practice and myself to give you a sense of what we offer here at Pacific Northwest Dental Care in Tukwila, Washington. Our team is committed to making your experience as pleasant as possible. From the initial phone call and visit, we will do our best to gather all necessary information to make each following step easier and more convenient for you. We understand past dental experiences may have been frightening and painful at times and we aim to change that outlook and experience during your time with us. During your initial exam, you will observe compassionate listening, your concerns will be addressed, a detailed explanation of all aspects of your oral health will be presented to you, followed with the pro and cons of the treatment options.
We believe your comfort and desires should be the foundation of your oral healthcare. Honesty and trust are at the core of our relationships and we encourage all of our patients to share any questions or concerns that they may have regarding their oral health goals. We believe in complete transparency regarding treatment options and cost and will not proceed with treatment until all information is presented to you.
A little about me. I enjoy all facets of dentistry and pride myself on staying educated about current dental advancements. You will often hear me share with my patients that I was a patient long before I was a dental provider. With that, I believe it is important to share my dental knowledge regarding your oral health and treatment options in a logical and understandable manner.
Growing up in Tacoma, I could be found fixing and building things in the garage with my brothers or drawing various animals and figures during my down time. These early passions led me to discover an interest in dentistry- the marriage of science and art. While pursuing my degree in physiology biology at the University of Washington, I was fortunate to volunteer at the University of Washington Dental Fears Research Clinic. My experience working with anxious and phobic patients shaped my dental practice philosophy. I set out to be a provider that can offer all treatment options from simple fillings to complex surgical and restorative makeovers in an environment that is comfortable and inviting. Part of this pursuit involved completing my dental training at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. During that time, I provided treatment for rural communities in Arizona, Missouri, and Washington. After dental school, I continued my training in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In addition to this advanced training, I earned my certification in intravenous moderate sedation to help aid in treating anxious and phobic patients and became a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
When not practicing dentistry, I enjoy listening to live music, traveling, camping/hiking, and training for half marathons with my rescue puppy Lyla. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach our team and myself at the office and we’ll be sure we take care of your needs.
We look forward to inviting you into our dental home and being part of your healthcare team!
Take care,
Tim C. Tran, DMD, FICOI
